Weimaraner Dogs - Santa Cruz, CA Weimaraner Owners

For those of you who have ever had the pleasure of owning a Weimaraner dog you know that they can be quite challenging pets but so loving and fun.  Santa Cruz is a great place to own a Weimaraner because they have so much opportunity for exercise at our dog friendly beaches and mountain areas.

Weimarners were originally bred in Germany and were a German hunting dog, a bird dog.  Weimaraners are high energy dogs and very intelligent.  Their nose often gets them into lots of trouble - like garbage and Thanksgiving Turkeys (never leave your Weimaraner alone in a room with food) - that is a lesson we had to learn quite a few times :)

We recently lost our beloved 11 year old Weim and just had to get another one.  Her name is Layla and she has is going to be a great member of the family.  I can't wait to take her to the Santa Cruz Dog Friendly Beaches and see if she has a knack for swimming.

I'd love to meet up with other Weimaraner owners in Santa Cruz and start some Weimaraner 'Play Dates'.  It is so much fun to see a bunch of Weims together and share stories with other Weimaraner owners.
