Is Santa Cruz one of the Happiest Places in the USA?

IS SANTA CRUZ ONE OF THE HAPPIEST PLACES IN THE USA?

I read an article in the Santa Cruz Sentinel today about a new Gallup poll that was just released.  This poll gauged people's happiness and well-being in different parts of the County.  As a Santa Cruz native I was not surprised to see that Santa Cruz County ranked high in the 'Happiness Poll'.

What makes Santa Cruz County a great place to live?  Well let me count the ways.

This time of year the weather in many parts of the Country is horrendous.  40 inches of snow, blizzard conditions, rain, hail . . .  Today is February 16th and it is 70 degrees in Santa Cruz!  Anyone jealous? :)

Santa Cruz BeachThis past President's Day weekend the warm, sunny weather had many out and about running, dog walking, surfing, relaxing at the beach.

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz offers so many activities that we can enjoy year round like surfing, mountain biking, hiking, kite boarding, kayaking, sailing and the new favorite - stand up paddling.

Of course Santa Cruz has it's problems like anywhere but overall I feel very blessed to call Santa Cruz home.  Santa Cruz is a geographically stunning place with world class surfing and beautiful State Parks, lots of entertainment and is located close to cultural centers like San Francisco.  For more information about the Santa Cruz area please feel free to contact me anytime.

Hello Jessica,

What a trip down memory lane!!  I grew up surfing in Santa Cruz and playing on the board walk.  I spent many days out on my board at 4 Mile (off to the right of Santa Cruz).  Thanks for sharing the photo's.  I love that area!!  Have a great day!

I'm sold!  We keep having snow in Birmingham, which is VERY unusual.

Jessica - it is surprising that Santa Cruz was as warm if not warmer than San Jose.  I spent almost 40 years in Santa Clara County - and took for granted that I was so close to Santa Cruz.

Jessica, thanks for the shots of the boardwalk and pier, great restaurants out there. The only problem I have with Santa Cruz, is Santa Cruz itself, the downtown, if you stay away from the downtown area it is beautiful. The surrounding county is wonderful, but like you said, everywhere has it's problems...

It most certainly is for my two year old!  She loves going to the Boardwalk and riding the Cave Train.  She babbles something about "turtle spit" and laughs (the dino that squirts water at the end of the ride). :<)  She has talked about it since her last ride about 5 months ago.  Gotta go one weekend soon.

Jessica - that is good news that Santa Cruz is one of the happiest places, that is a nice statistic to share with your buyers relocating to the area.
